Telenor appoints Rajeev Sethi CEO of Grameenphone, Vivek Sood CEO of Uninor

Telenor Group has announced that Rajeev Sethi will be joining Grameenphone as CEO while Vivek Sood would be named CEO at Uninor.

Sethi is currently chief marketing officer at Uninor, a role he held for nearly two years. Sood, who has served as Grameenphone CEO since January 2013, is re-joining Uninor as CEO.

Morten Karlsen Sørby has stepped down as CEO of Uninor due to illness in his immediate family and will assume a new role in Telenor Group.

Uninor has also appointed senior vice president Upanga Dutta as its new CMO, succeeding Sethi.

All the above mentioned changes are effective as of December 1 but Sørby will remain as an advisor to the Uninor top management until January 1, 2015.

Cisco names Saleh M Haji Munshi ASEAN head

Saleh M Haji Munshi has joined Cisco as president of ASEAN to lead the networking company’s operations and drive business strategies across Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, and the Indochina region.

He will be based in Singapore and report to Irving Tan, president of Asia Pacific and Japan.

Prior to Cisco, Haji was responsible for customer and partner segments at Dell across Indonesia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Bangladesh and 16 other developing countries in APAC. He has also held senior leadership positions in Ciena, Lucent Technologies and Hughes Network Systems.

Nokia Networks appoints Marko Lius as head of Bangladesh

Nokia Networks has appointed Marko Lius as head of Bangladesh to manage and oversee the company’s operations in the country. He will report to Harald Preiss, head of Asia North.

Lius joined Nokia in 1989 and has held several managerial positions within the sales domain in the company.

Most recently, Lius was heading Networks System Solution Engagement for the Asia-Pacific region. His efforts have been instrumental in further strengthening the company’s business relationship with customers in Bangladesh and Asia.
