Maxis CEO to step down

Morten Lundal (pictured) will be stepping down from his position as chief executive officer of Maxis next year after serving the Malaysian telecoms operator for nearly five years.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Maxis said Lundal will be leaving the company when his contract expires on March 31, 2018. No official reason was provided, and Maxis will reveal a successor in due course, the operator said.

Lundal joined Maxis as CEO back in October 2013, bringing over 16 years of experience in the telecoms industry onboard. He was previously CEO of Digi, before joining Vodafone in various global positions within the British telecoms giant in 2008.

Cisco hires Mark Phibbs to drive brand transformation across APJ
Mark Phibbs has joined Cisco Systems as vice president of marketing and communications for Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ).

In his new role, Phibbs, who has over 25 years of experience in the IT industry, will be responsible for the Cisco marketing team across 18 countries in the region.

Phibbs joins Cisco from Adobe, where he served as VP of marketing for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Prior to that, he held various marketing and leadership roles across EMEA and APJ at companies including IBM and Microsoft.

Newtec appoints Steve Mills as global VP sales
Newtec has appointed Steve Mills the position of global vice president of sales, based in Europe.

Prior to joining Newtec, Mills was head of global sales and marketing, secure communications, at Airbus Defence and Space, where he gained extensive experience in the government and defense market, among others.

In his new role, Mills will oversee the sales and sales support teams and be responsible for growing both direct and in-direct business.
