Aircel has new COO
Indian mobile carrier Aircel has appointed Dr Kaizad Heerjee as its new COO. Before joining Aircel, Heerjee worked at Malaysian telco, U Mobile, as its CEO.
Heerjee will take the responsibilities of Gurdeep Singh, who quit the company in January and joined Reliance Communications as the CEO of wireless business division.
Apple appoints SVPs
Apple has promoted hardware engineering VP Dan Riccio and Mac software engineering VP Craig Federighi to SVPs. Riccio and Federighi will report to Apple CEO Tim Cook and serve on Apple’s executive management team.
Riccio will lead the Mac, iPhone, iPad and iPod engineering teams.
Federighi will continue to be responsible for the development of Mac OS X and Apple’s common operating system engineering teams.
Bob Mansfield, who announced his retirement in June, will remain at Apple and work on future products.
Kordia appoints CFO
Shaun Rendell has joined Kordia as CFO, replacing Roger Jarrold, who has left to join Downer New Zealand as its new CFO.
Rendell comes to Kordia from Renaissance Corporation, where he was acting CEO for the past year and CFO for the last two years. There, he led a team and was instrumental in the transformation of loss-making subsidiaries into a profitable businesses.
Macquarie Telecom taps operations exec
Australia-based Macquarie Telecom has appointed William Priest as operations group executive, reporting to CEO, David Tudehope.
Priest will take care of delivering operational excellence and exceptional customer service, alongside developing strategies for both internal and external initiatives. He will also be responsible for the company’s customer contact center, MacquarieHUB, and will maintain service and network operations and the customer service management team which consists of over 120 people.
