The third annual Readers' Choice Awards ceremony is just around the corner! Readers have voted for their favorite vendors and winners will be announced at a cocktail ceremony on December 9 in Hong Kong.
Leading this year's list of nominees was Alcatel-Lucent, with nominations in 13 categories. Huawei Technologies was second, nominated in 12 categories, followed by Ericsson with 10 and Nokia Siemens Networks with nine.
ZTE, a winner in two categories last year, had seven nominations while NEC was nominated in five categories. Other equipment suppliers nominated in more than one category were IBM, Microsoft, Amdocs, Juniper Networks, ECI Telecom, Oracle, HP, Ciena and SAP.
In addition to the Readers' Choice Awards, Telecom Asia will announce Special Editor Recognition Awards in three categories at the ceremony.
The Readers' Choice Awards are held annually to recognize the technology innovations and accomplishments of the top telecom vendors operating in Asia Pacific. Nominations for 24 categories were open to analysts, consultants and senior telco executives in September. A total of 61 telecom insiders submitted amore than 2,000 nominations. Telecom Asia's editorial team narrowed down the list of nominations in each of the categories after consulting with a team analysts.
