The FTTx Project of the Year award was given to ZTE for the deployment of its Ultra-Broadband Internet Service for MNC Kabel Mediacom in Indonesia. Nokia Networks was voted the Core Network Project of the Year for its work with SK Telecom on virtualized Evolved Packet Core proof-of-concept.
Each year Telecom Asia organizes the Readers’ Choice & Innovation Awards to recognize advancements and contributions of the industry’s top vendors within the region.
The awards, now in their seventh year, continue to emphasize innovation, said managing editor Stefan Hammond. “Again this year, we've added 'Innovation' to the award-name," he said. "In today's market, suppliers must ensure their products and services help telcos to find new ways to partner, test new business models, and forge ahead in the digital economy.”
The editors of Telecom Asia, with support from a team of analysts, narrowed down the nominations in 18 categories to a shortlist of 75, representing 44 companies. Voting was open to our online subscriber base of service providers in early October. Voting closed in late October.
