Singapore media company Tech Storm has partnered with Nanyang Technological University (NTU) on a technology license agreement that gives the former access to NTU’s proprietary automatic content recognition technology.

The technology allows mobile users to recognize content on larger screens and simultaneously pull companion content to mobile devices associated with the viewers. It is said to outperform competing technologies in a few areas, including recognition capacity and resistance to ambient noise.

According to Tech Storm founder Debbie Lee, the partnership is the first of many to come for Tech Storm as the company enriches its content interaction with its viewers across all screens and mobile devices.

The licensed technology will be embedded on Tech Storm’s original production titled Storm Bytes, which is hosted by celebrity Erin Lim and Singapore artiste Benjamin Kheng. The first episode will premier on Playmoolah, a Singapore-based financial literacy start-up.
