Singapore's StarHub has introduced direct carrier billing for App Store, Apple Music and iTunes purchases.

The operator is making the service available to all StarHub Mobile postpaid customers, allowing them to pay for purchases of apps, music and games, as well as iCloud storage, via their monthly mobile bill.

StarHub Mobile postpaid customers with a new or existing Apple ID need only select carrier billing as a payment method in their account settings for the App Store, Apple Music and iTunes.

Carrier billing will be available via iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch for the App Store and Apple Music, and via both PCs and Macs for iTunes.

Customers will then be able to implement one-tap purchasing off content from the digital stores.

StarHub last month launched Singapore's first commercial 1Gbps mobile speeds as part of its ongoing network modernization program. The operator contracted Nokia to provide advanced RAN, small cells, virtualized core and IP routing technologies for the deployment.

The operator also recently made a foray into Singapore's open electricity market in partnership with renewable energy startup Sunseap
