StarHub announced that it has expanded its mobile data and roaming to major European countries, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
This has resulted from the strategic partnership between StarHub and Vodafone that allows StarHub to leverage on Vodafone's extensive global reach to offer quality and affordable data-roaming experience to customers when abroad.
With the new preferred rates, customers pay $25 for the first 20MB of international data used on any particular day; the per-unit rate is at a mere $1.25/MB (Regular international data is charged at $20/MB). Most customers will find 20MB to be a more-than-sufficient amount of mobile data they would use in a day when overseas; for example, they can enjoy approximately 150 WhatsApp messages, 40 emails and 25 webpages/Facebook pages daily. Beyond this usage within the same day, roaming data access costs $3/MB. To enjoy the savings in data-roaming, customers simply connect their mobile devices to Vodafone’s high-quality network in any of the 14 available overseas destinations.
All StarHub Mobile post-paid customers with international roaming service will automatically enjoy the preferred rates when they roam on the selected Vodafone networks. They are not required to activate the service prior to use; hence they will not get a bill shock just because they forget to activate it. Customers also enjoy great flexibility in the use of data-roaming service as usage is charged on a daily basis as and when it is needed.
“Our partnership with Vodafone, the world’s largest mobile community, has allowed us to create unique benefits for our customers,” said Joanna Chan, VP of personal solutions, StarHub.
