Sri Reddy named co-president of Nokia ION business group
Nokia has promoted Sri Reddy to the role of co-president of its IP/Optical Networks (ION) business group and as member of the Group Leadership Team (GLT), with immediate effect.
Reddy will work with current president of ION business group, Basil Alwan, who will continue as a GLT member, co-president of the ION business group and an advisor to the CEO, Nokia said.
Reddy and Alwan will split responsibilities, with Reddy principally responsible for day-to-day operations and jointly managing the strategy and overall performance of the ION business, Nokia said.
Reddy is currently senior vice president and general manager of the Routing Business Unit in ION. He was a founder of Timetra in 2000 and since then has played an instrumental role in building the IP routing business from the ground-up, leading the IP Software Engineering team for over 10 years and subsequently leading the IP Routing Business Unit for the last 5 years.
He has held leadership positions in Bay Networks, Timetra and Alcatel-Lucent prior to joining Nokia. Reddy continues to be based in California, and will report to Nokia CEO Rajeev Suri.
Joe Sun to head Thinxtra’s HK operations
Thinxtra has appointed Joe Sun as general manager of its Hong Kong operations as the Sigfox operator continues the buildout of its territory-wide IoT network and accelerates the local development and implementation of IoT solutions in the city.
Sun has over than 20 years of experience in the technology and telecommunications industries with a proven track record in business development, strategic partnerships and revenue generation.
Prior to joining Thinxtra, he has worked with Hong Kong mobile carrier CSL's mobile solutions development team and Hutchison Telecom’s corporate sales team.
“With our Sigfox network in place, we are now preparing for an upsurge in IoT development activity and the mass implementation of IoT solutions in Hong Kong.
