SK Telecom has extended its LTE international roaming offering to Canada and Switzerland in partnership with Rogers and Swisscom.

The company also revealed it is in talks with operators in Japan, China and the US to launch LTE roaming in those markets.

Customers can now make use of LTE roaming in non-mountainous regions of Switzerland and major cities in Canada.

Terms of the roaming agreement will be used as a blueprint for further deals in Europe and the Americas, the operator added.

SK Telecom entered its first 4G roaming arrangement with CSL, and launched what it billed as the world's first international LTE roaming service in the market in June. The operator has since expanded the service to markets including Singapore (through SingTel) and the Philippines (through Globe Telecom).

Roaming is available to SK Telecom's LTE-Advanced customers as well as its LTE subscribers. At the end of July, SK Telecom revealed it had signed up 300,000 LTE-A customers in just a month after launching the service.
