SK Infosec, a sister company of SK Telecom, has signed a partnership contract with Equinix Singapore to bring its Managed Security Services (MSS) business to Singapore.
SK Infosec will launch the Singapore MSS business, targeting enterprise and financial corporations, in the current quarter.
Equinix operates more than 180 world-class data centers in 44 metros across 22 countries.
This enables Equinix to meet current data center customers’ demands for MSS and allows SK Infosec to expand its MSS business abroad.
According to SK infosec, Singapore has its geographical advantages and is IT hub of Asia. It is a good starting place to expand its global MSS business. The Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) from 2015 to 2020 of cybersecurity in Singapore is expected to be 9.3% and service market (MSS, outsourcing) size is approximately US$356 million, accounting for 80% of total cybersecurity in the market.
SK infosec plans to implement MSS platform (Secudium) into Equinix’s data centers in Singapore and provide remote MSS to customers through Security Operations Center (SOC) in South Korea. Equinix will support co-marketing campaigns targeting at its current data centers customers.
“Cybersecurity is a persistent business risk that many enterprises regard as their top priority. With the strengths from both companies, we will offer businesses value-added services within our Equinix Cloud Exchange ecosystem, as well as enable our customers to sharpen their digital edge and achieve effective and extensive security protection from multiple fronts,” Equninix south Asia managing director Clement Goh said.
