Singtel has announced the launch of its FutureNow Innovation Center, showcasing the potential of technologies such as 5G and the IoT to support the government's Industry Transformation Maps for Singapore's six key industry clusters.

The new facility also displays use cases for technologies such as cloud, software defined networks, data analytics, AI, security, and robotics.

In addition, the facility showcases smart home technologies such as voice-controlled home systems and IoT solutions for consumers, managed through a single platform.

The center will also serve as a platform for technology partners of all sizes to access Singtel's regional footprint of more than 650 million mobile customers, CEO of Group Enterprise at Singtel Bill Chang said.

“We have brought together a number of industry subject matter experts who are contributing to the various industries’ transformation,” Chang said.

“Together with the advanced technologies through our various research and development labs, product development and extensive partnership ecosystems, we are bringing innovative and impactful services and solutions to help accelerate enterprises in their digitalization journeys.”

The Singapore government launched the S$4.5 billion ($3.29 billion) Industry Transformation Map initiative in 2016 in a bid to help 23 industries across the six clusters foster innovation, boost productivity, develop skills and expand internationally.

The six clusters are trade and connectivity, manufacturing, essential domestic services, modern services, built environment, and lifestyle.
