South East Asia Telecom (Seatel) has partnered with ZTE to build an FDD LTE network in Cambodia.

Under the agreement, ZTE will be the exclusive provider of 4G infrastructure and products, including the core network EPC, an IP RAN and an online charging system.

ZTE will also provide its Cloud UniCore and Cloud Radio network co-ordination products to help Seatel manage its network resources and functionality.

Seatel Cambodia is the operating entity of Seatel Group, which was established in Singapore in 2014. It has operating licenses in Cambodia to provide mobile, fixed-wireless, VoIP and other services.

In February, Seatel revealed it has lined up funding needed to invest $400 million towards rolling out the LTE network over the next 2-3 years.

The parent entity plans to use its Cambodian 4G rollout as a model for an international expansion drive involving rolling out LTE networks in multiple other countries.

ZTE said that as of the second quarter, the company had won more than 185 LTE/EPC contracts, and has been involved in rollouts in 70% of the countries that have invested in LTE networks.
