Hong Kong, Jan 29 – Telecom Asia once again calls for nominations in its annual search for the best telecom operators in the region. Readers are invited to nominate candidates in eight categories. The deadline for online submissions is February 23.

Now in its 18th year, the awards are the region’s longest-running and most prestigious telecom industry awards. They reward innovative and outstanding performance by Asian service providers and industry executives. The awards are held in conjunction with Telecom Asia's Telco Strategies conference. The theme for 2015 is "Strategies for Thriving In The Age Of Disruption."

Awards in 17 categories will be presented at a ceremony on May 20 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Winners will be selected from a shortlist of candidates nominated by Telecom Asia readers, the 13-member judging panel and our editors.

Final selection is made by an independent panel of industry experts, who will cast votes on the basis of innovation, financial performance, technology, market leadership and corporate governance.

Last year Globe Telecom, NTT Communications and SK Telecom each won two awards. Globe came out on top in the Best Asian Telecom Carrier category after being named a finalist in an unprecedented seven categories.

Japan's NTT Communications celebrated the night with the Best Managed Services Provider and Best Cloud-based Service prizes. The company received high marks for its globally integrated platform and industry-leading capabilities in service automation.

SK Telecom CEO Ha Sung-min was voted Telecom CEO of the Year for pushing the company to the cutting edge of mobile technology, with the world’s first commercial launches of VoLTE and LTE-A.
