(Asia Pulse Businesswire via NewsEdge) South Korea will launch a satellite for geographical updates, natural resource searches and environmental observation from a Russian spaceport late this month.
The multipurpose Arirang 2 satellite is scheduled to lift off on July 28 from a launch pad in the Plesetsk Cosmodrome, about 800km northeast of Moscow, according to the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The launch is expected to enable the country to take high-resolution pictures of the earth's surface. The 800kg satellite will be placed in a low orbit 685km from the earth by a Russian rocket.
