Bangladesh mobile operator Robi Axiata has contracted Tango Telecom to upgrade its policy and charging system to provide a range of new and innovative mobile data plans for its more than 25 million subscribers.

Under the seven-figure (US dollars) deal, Tango Telecom has increased capacity and upgraded the system with new features. These include dynamic pricing for data services, which enable Robi Axiata to price and promote mobile data services dynamically based on cell load, location, time of day, subscriber type and/or subscriber activity.

Tango Telecom’s Policy Control service also enables Robi Axiata’s subscribers to access mobile data plans and promotions such as tiered service level packages, roaming controls to prevent bill shock, volume and time based quotas, pay-per-use packages and dynamic on-demand self-care options, the Irish vendor said.

Separately, Huawei and Nokia Solutions and Networks (NSN) have signed a bilateral agreement to cross-license the OSS interfaces used for multi-vendor management as part of the OSS interoperability initiative (OSSii).

The agreement, follows a MoU for the OSSii announced by Huawei, NSN and Ericsson in May 2013, will streamline and simplify the integration of OSS solutions spanning either vendor’s equipment, NSN said.

While the MoU set the general guiding principles of the initiative, in the meantime Huawei and NSN have reached an agreement on the technical details of configuration, performance, and fault northbound interfaces for radio access, circuit core and packet core, Huawei said.
