India's Reliance Jio Infocomm has signed yet another tower sharing deal for its upcoming TD-LTE rollout.
The operator has arranged to use ovre 113,000 towers from India's Indus Towers, a joint venture between India's three largest mobile operators Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular.
The deal will allow Reliance Jio to use all of Indus Towers' infrastructure in 15 of India's 22 telecom circles at prices based on prevailing market rates.
Reliance Jio is the only Indian operator with a nationwide 4G license, and plans to launch services next year.
The operator has already signed numerous other infrastructure sharing deals with players including Reliance Communications, Bharti Infratel, BSNL and ATC.
“We are building our network through a combination of infrastructure network that we are creating on our own and those that we are renting from quality partners,” Reliance Jio managing director Sanjay Mashruwala said.
“We already have such tower sharing agreements with all the major players in India, and this relationship with Indus Towers will further accelerate the rollout of our services.”
