Philippines incumbent carrier PLDT has introduced a quad-play service, bundling a mobile package with its voice, data and Cignal fiber services, in a bid to gain more share in the country’s competitive broadband market.

More than one million PLDT HOME subscribers can now access to the quad play service for an additional fee of 500 pesos ($11) per month with a free iPhone.

Customers who sign up for the new offer will also receive 500 minutes of voice calls to Smart and PLDT landline subscribers, as well as 2,000 SMS to all mobile networks, 250MB of internet data, and unlimited music streaming via Spinnr. All services are charged to a single PLDT bill.

“The quad-play service will reinforce the trusted benefits of PLDT HOME brands. With this offer, we will be able to offer our customers a one-stop shop for all their communications and multimedia needs, enabling them to experience a richer digital lifestyle,” PLDT VP and head of home marketing Gary G. Dujali said.

“Bundling a data-rich mobile phone service with their fixed line services enables HOME customers to enjoy a wide range of digital services outside their homes, wherever they may be."

The quad-play offer will be available nationwide and is key to expanding PLDT Group’s subscriber base, which now accounts for over 70% of the country’s broadband market, PLDT said.

The new launch comes three months after PLDT rolled out a triple play offering with Cignal.

In May PLDT, which reported a 5% decline in its net profit for the first quarter, announced plans for an organizational revamp. The company aims to push aggressively into the digital service arena for new growth.
