Hong Kong's HKT has entered an IPX multi-service interconnection agreement with the Philippines' PLDT that aims to improve voice and data connectivity between the two markets.
HKT's international operating division PCCW Global has signed the deal with PLDT as part of the recent expansion of its IPX reach.
Through the agreement the companies plan to extend their collaboration to new market segments while improving their existing interconnection portfolios.
The PCCW Global IPX provides access to the MobileXchange service suite, which covers interconnection for VoIPX, VoLTE, LTE roaming, GRX and SCCP as well as UCaaS and other cloud based applications.
“PLDT is a major partner in many of our projects, and the IPX interconnection was a natural step for us. We are looking forward to bringing innovative solutions to international services which could directly benefit the Philippine market,” PCCW Global CEO Marc Halbfinger said.
PLDT chairman Manny V. Pangilinan added that “with PCCW Global’s proven expertise in delivering advanced and quality services, we believe that this agreement will enable us to deliver a broader range of digital services to our customers, especially our overseas Filipinos in Hong Kong and their families back home.”
