Pacnet announced the availability of its 10G IP Transit service in Nagoya, Seoul, and Taipei.

Pacnet’s IP Transit services ride on Pacnet’s extensive IP backbone, one of Asia's largest at over 340 Gbps of international IP backbone capacity and have a global reach that extends beyond Asia to Europe and US.

“Streaming video, cloud computing and social media channels have been driving a huge increase in the demand for Internet bandwidth. This latest service expansion is part of our strategy to upgrade our IP Transit service to 10G across major locations to enable our service provider customers to deliver the higher speeds demanded by today's always-connected businesses and consumers," said Hideo Ishii, VP of product strategy and management at Pacnet.

Pacnet's IP network is also backed by comprehensive peering agreements to major overseas networks and top content providers.

With the latest service expansion, Pacnet 10G IP Transit is now available in 12 cities across 8 countries, namely Auckland, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Los Angeles, Nagoya, Osaka, San Jose, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, Taipei and Tokyo. Plans are underway to further extend Pacnet 10G IP Transit availability across more locations, with availability in Chennai planned within the first half of 2012.
