Ooredoo Myanmar has contracted Nokia to operate and manage all aspects of the operator's security requirements.
Nokia will provide its Managed Security Services portfolio to the Myanmar operator, including cyber attack detection and response capabilities provided from the Nokia Security Operation Center.
The security capabilities being provided to Ooredoo Myanmar has been customized based on the results of an analysis of the operator's security risks and gaps, conducted using Nokia's Security Risk Index.
Ooredoo Myanmar CEO Vikram Sinha said this level of customization was a major draw for the operator.
"Our network carries a huge amount of sensitive and personal data that we need to safeguard. We chose Nokia because its holistic Managed Security Services enabled us to assess the security of our network and implement the latest measures to protect against any breaches,” he said.
“We believe that they can address the security needs of both the IT and telecom infrastructure, and we are happy to provide Nokia's security service to our enterprise customers so they can enhance their security to world-class levels."
