Ooredoo has signed a five-year deal with Nokia covering the delivery of mobile broadband technologies across its footprint in the Middle East, North Africa and Southeast Asia.
The agreement will cover the deliver of mobile broadband technology to help Ooredoo augment the 2G, 3G, 4G and LTE-A networks in its operating markets.
The operator's Asian footprint covers Myanmar and Indonesia. In Myanmar, the company secured one of the two unified telecom licenses allocated as part of the liberalization of the nation's telecom sector. Ooredoo Myanmar launched the nation's first 3G services in August last year.

“This renewed framework agreement is significant, as it covers the delivery of all the latest technologies and support services helping us further enhance our network capacity and coverage.”
Ooredoo also recently deployed Nokia Networks small cells in its home market of Qatar. The enhanced agreement could potentially lead to the rollout of small cells to other markets within the operator's footprint.
