Nokia, together with DVB-H Asia Pacific Alliance (DAPA) member companies and the Media Development Authority of Singapore, will be conducting a DVB-H technology workshop in Singapore, the first of its kind in the Asia Pacific.
The workshop aims to give broadcasters and content owners a better understanding of the business opportunities that broadcast mobile TV brings, as well as tackle issues such as encoding, content protection and content formatting.
It will be held during the Asia Media Festival in Singapore, which will take place from Nov. 15 to Dec. 1 and will play host to content creators and key industry players in the region.
Nokia said the workshop demonstrated its commitment to push DVB-H technology for broadcast mobile TV, as well as its support for the mainstream open industry standards that promoted interoperability and mobile television content protection.
"The DVB-H technology workshop in Singapore, timed with the Asia Media Festival, was developed with the intention to give broadcast industry professionals intensive hands-on exposure to the many dimensions of the technology and its advantages," said Jawahar Kanjilal, director for multimedia experiences at Nokia Asia Pacific. "This will empower the content industry to maximize its business potential from the commercial launches of broadcast mobile TV services in the Asia-Pacific region."
