Nokia has launched a new line of analytics services for telecoms network data powered by the vendor's AVA cognitive services platform.

The analytics services also make use of Nokia Shannon Intelligence, which is designed to integrate augmented intelligence throughout its product portfolio.

Services include mobility analysis and optimization, which uses crowd-sourced performance measurements and algorithms developed by Nokia Bell Labs to reduce dropped calls by up to 35%, as well as cell site degradation prediction to help predict degradation up to seven days in advance.

Other use cases include VoLTE audio gap analysis, predictive video analytics to identify bottlenecks impacting the delivery of video services and the Nokia MIKA digital assistant that promises to improve first time resolution for network engineers by 20-40%.

"Our analytics services help to cope with the complexity of today's networks. We at Nokia provide insights to improve network availability and quality,” Nokia Global Services head of network planning and optimization Dennis Lorenzin said.

“We can augment human intelligence to improve efficiency and reduce the cost of operations. In addition, we can provide deeper insights to improve quality of experience based on subscriber, device and application usage patterns."
