A record number of 10,791,600 in China viewed the 58th Annual Grammy Awards on LeMusic, the internet music technology subsidiary of LeEco (formerly Letv), the company said citing an overnight tally.

Eric Mika, SVP of open eco systems, strategic alliances and partnerships at LeEco, said the company’s continuous, seamless and flawless delivery of the music’s biggest night to millions, plus the in-studio commentary and red carpet coverage was “a tremendous success.”

“The broadcast well-exceeded our expectations,” said LeMusic CEO Liang Yin.

Earlier this month LeEco and Alfred Haber, the exclusive licensed distribution partner of The Recording Academy announced the strategic alliance to live-stream the Grammy in China, in an effort to encourage lawful viewing of the awards ceremony.

“LeEco’s commitment to stop piracy and value talent is only one of our missions in providing streaming of the Grammy Awards,” said Mika. “We are committed and looking forward to partnering with many other events through live streaming and offering our powerful and robust cloud in more than 60 countries, globally.”

The deal with The Recording Academy is the latest significant milestone for LeEco, which includes exclusive streaming rights to Major League Baseball in China, Hong Kong and Macau from 2016-2019, Wimbledon from 2016-2018, the English Premier League in Hong Kong from 2016-2019, as well as a five-year global partnership with the Association of Tennis Professionals.
