After a two-year run at the cavernous Venetian Macau, the Asia Mobile Congress is back in Hong Kong. Set to take place from November 18-19 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, the event will bring together the mobile industry top insiders to share their insights on where the industry is going and even how mobile technology can help cut energy consumption and boost productivity.

The Mobile Asia Congress, according to its organizer the GSMA, will focus on addressing operator issues and advancing operator projects through a combination of regionally-specific keynotes, working sessions, a product showcase with breakthrough innovations, and extended networking opportunities.

Keynotes and breakout sessions will center on the theme "Inspiring the mobile future," and will cover such topics as strategies for growth, mobile broadband, mobile lifestyle, and the mobile planet - all designed to help chart the development of future mobile services.

For the growth strategies track, discussions will mainly be on innovation, collaboration and investments while LTE will be the centerpiece of the mobile broadband track.

Applications development will be the focus of the mobile lifestyle discussions; harnessing mobile technology to enable environmental sustainability will be the main feature of the mobile planet track.

Some of the sub-topics to be discussed include mobile social networking, mobile cloud, mobile advertising, next generation networks, outsourcing, mobile health, segmentation and pricing strategies, and mobile money services.

Among the speakers who will present at the Mobile Asia Congress are Alcatel-Lucent Asia-Pacific Region president Sean Dolan, Bharti Airtel president and CEO Manoj Kohli, China Mobile chairman and CEO Wang Jianzhou, China Unicom chairman and CEO Chang Xiaobing, CSL CEO Tarek Robbiati, Huawei Devices CEO Kevin Tao, NTT DoCoMo president and CEO Ryuji Yamada, SoftBank Mobile chairman and CEO Masayoshi Son, Telenor Group president and CEO Jon Fredrik Baksaas, and Zain Group CEO Dr. Saad Al Barrak.

Apart from the keynotes, seminars and breakout sessions, the event will also feature an Exhibition Showcase highlighting key mobile technologies and solutions, as well as the Asia Mobile Awards which recognize outstanding growth, innovation and leadership in the Asian mobile market.
