Global network-as-a-service provider Megaport has secured a contract to provide SDN-enabled, elastic interconnection and cloud exchange services for ST Telemedia Global Data Centres' STT Tai Seng 1 data center in Singapore.

Utilising Megaport, STT GDC plans to provide enterprise customers with networking capabilities with rapid provisioning on a pay-as-you-go basis. Customers will be able to access a variety of leading cloud service platforms including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Alibaba Cloud, IBM Cloud, Oracle Cloud, and Salesforce as well as hundreds of Managed Service Providers and networks.

Megaport services align network economics with cloud service models, providing the ability to right-size capacity by scaling bandwidth up and down in real time with flexible terms.

“Megaport offers businesses more dynamic interconnectivity capabilities,” , STT GDC group CMO Christopher Street said.

“STT Tai Seng 1 houses Points of Presence of more than a dozen local and international carriers as well as Singapore Internet Exchange and Australia Singapore Cable. The global exchange of data traffic underpins the digital economy, the efficiency of this exchange is in turn dependent on the broad selection of network services and choice of providers that our customers enjoy. We recently expanded to add another 4.6MW of capacity in response to strong enterprise customer demand. The combination of Megaport’s Network as a Service and our leading data centre solutions creates a powerful value proposition for our customers to connect and scale with the cloud services they need."

“We are thrilled to have STT GDC as our partner,” added Megaport CEO Vincent English. “The growing demand for interconnectivity and peering services in Asia Pacific is placing Singapore as a regional innovation hub to deliver connectivity services across the region. STT GDC is well-positioned to support the growth of cloud adoption as enterprises in Asia Pacific undergo digital transformation. Extending the reach of cloud services to STT GDC is a testament to our commitment to neutrality and making connectivity easy.”
