M1 has become Singapore's first operator to offer a 10Gbps service over the national fiber network, the NG-NBN.

The company launched the 10Gbps service nationwide yesterday, targeting it at large enterprises in need of a high-speed broadband service for real-time backup and for ensuring business continuity.

M1 has also launched a 1Gbps service aimed at SMEs, priced at S$996 ($796) per month for up to 10 access points and public Wi-Fi provisioning. This price is comparable to M1's legacy business broadband plans.

M1 offers both broadband and voice services over Singapore's NG-NBN (next-generation national broadband network). The operator also offers a suite of other enterprise services, including mobile connectivity, managed services and data center services.

The NG-NBN is being operated by OpenNet, a joint venture between SingTel, Axia NetMedia, Singapore Press Holdings and Singapore Power Telemedia.

Singaporean ISP MyRepublic recently launched a 1Gbps residential fiber service for just S$49.99 per month.
