LG Electronics is tipped to be on the brink of cutting back production of PCs in favor of smartphones, tablets, and hybrid computers.

LG’s Home Entertainment unit produces PCs, TVs, and monitors, while mobile handsets are handled by its Mobile Communications division. Home Entertainment sales fell 7% year-on-year to 5 billion won ($4.7 million), and while the firm states profitability improved quarter-on-quarter, it doesn’t reveal the figure.
