Huawei is targeting a 25% revenue growth in Southeast Asia this year, driven by smartphones and enterprise unit sales.

The vendor expects to report revenue from the region of $3.38 billion, the Bangkok Post said, citing the company's new SEA CEO David Sun.

Sun told the paper he expects Huawei's consumer revenue from the area to grow 60% and its enterprise business to expand 43%. The company is also forecasting double-digit telecom equipment revenue growth.

By comparison, sales of Huawei's telecom equipment and devices in Southeast Asia grew 77% during 2014.

Sun added that Huawei believes Thailand could serve as a regional ICT hub for the company due to the country's high number of internet users and heavy mobile data usage. Huawei expects sales of its smartphones in Thailand to grow to $75 million this year.

In November, Huawei revealed plans to spend $100 million to improve its brand awareness across Southeast Asia, including $10 million towards increasing its presence in the Thai market.

Thailand is gearing up to conduct 4G auctions as part of the government's Digital Economy strategy. The government recently committed to holding the auction by August.
