Huawei has reported a 15% year-on-year increase in revenue for the first six months of 2018 – a strong performance, but not in comparison to the company's recent historical growth trends.
The Chinese vendor's unaudited half year results show that the company had an operating margin for the period of 14%, up from 11% a year earlier.
But despite revenue growing to 325.7 billion yuan ($47.8 million), the 15% growth rate was stable from 1H17 and paled in comparison to the 41% growth recorded in the first half of 2016.
Huawei said that its carrier operations remain focused on developing compelling 5G solutions and driving the ongoing evolution of LTE, and is pursuing forays into intent-driven networks and cloud data centers.
Huawei has meanwhile accelerated its development efforts in cloud infrastructure, with a focus on providing secure and trusted cloud services to customers, as well as building an intuitive AI platform.
In the enterprise business, Huawei is focusing on domains including AI, cloud computing, IoT and big data.
