HKT showcases digital transformation

HKT has showcased some milestone achievements from its digital business transformation in conjunction with technology partner Huawei.

The showcase at the HKT Digital Business Transformation Experience Hall at the Huawei Operations Transformation Forum (OTF) 2017 this week involved the presentation of a number of initiatives illustrating the operator's digital operations and platform capabilities.

These include enterprise customer self-servicing, with data usage management functions including service subscription, quota management and splitting of bills for business and personal usage all manageable online.

The showcase also highlighted HKT's ability to offer intelligent operation and maintenance for cloud based services, including self-deployment of services and capabilities.

HKT also demonstrated a service allowing account managers to offer enterprise-to-enterprise service to customers online all the way from service subscription, service configuration to service activation through a single sales operation portal.

“In the digital era, customers expect services to be user-centric, responsive, user-defined and self-served,” HKT Engineering managing director Peter Lam said.

“In view of the high demand of a new digital landscape that can provide customers with superior service experience - real-time, on-demand, all-online and DIY - we are building a new cloud-based platform as a solid foundation for future-oriented operations and networks. This will enable us to unlock the enormous potential of digital services for customers and for future business growth."
