HKBN has renamed its New World Telecom division as HKBN Enterprise Solutions (HKBN) after making progress integrating its enterprise business.

HKBN acquired New World Telecom for HK$650 million in February as part of efforts to increase its share of Hong Kong's enterprise telecommunications market.

Now the company has integrated its existing enterprise solutions business and New World Telecom into the new HKBNES subsidiary.

The integration will reduce operating costs due to the company moving the New World Telecom office to Kwai Chung, and will allow the company to cross-sell services previously fragmented among separate operating customers.

“Looking ahead, we are poised and ready to pounce on market opportunities with the determination of one extremely strong integrated enterprise team,” HKBN Chief Commercial Officer for enterprise solutions Bill Yeung said.

“With the integration of New World Telecom we’re able to offer our HKBN and former NWT customers better service and higher bandwidth solutions, all at much more competitive prices.”

He said the recent decision by more than 50 former New World Telecom executives to join HKBN's expanded co-owner program underscores the company's confidence that the integration will substantially improve the operator's share of the enterprise segment.
