Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Ltd. (Cyberport), a creative digital community wholly owned by the Hong Kong SAR Government, is scaling up its support for ICT entrepreneurs in Hong Kong and Mainland China.
Among its projects is the Cyberport Incubation Program, which provides ICT startups in Hong Kong with access to advanced facilities and resources, support for business development, financing and hiring of graduate interns, and training.
Meanwhile, its “Shenzhen-Hong Kong ICT Young Entrepreneur Program” offers Hong Kong ICT talents the opportunity to partner with Shenzhen students. All participants can gain practical and start-up experience, understand cross-border culture, and enter into international markets.
Recently, 30 incubates of the Cyberport Incubation Program and 10 cross-border projects of the Shenzhen-Hong Kong ICT Young Entrepreneur Program were recognized for their achievements in entrepreneurship.
Sealing a formal partnership with the Shanghai Technology Entrepreneurship Foundation for Graduates (STEFG), Cyberport seeks to further promote entrepreneurship spirit and collaboration of ICT ecosystem in Hong Kong and Mainland China.
“To help local ICT start-ups tap into the Mainland markets and capture sizable business opportunities, Cyberport is proactively forming alliance with different partners and organizations to build a one-stop service platform for them,” said Herman Lam, CEO of Cyberport.
At the recent Hong Kong ICT Awards 2014, Cyberport took home a record-breaking 31 awards, with 18 Cyberport incubatees, alumni, service subscribers and tenants scoring big wins across six categories.
“As the global innovation hubs are shifting to the East, we anticipate that our enhanced collaboration with Cyberport could invoke young talents’ entrepreneurial spirits and foster a thriving cross-border ecosystem. We can see the global tech startup phenomenon is taking root in Hong Kong with innovation from the new generation of start-ups,” observed Zhang Dewang, Secretary, STEFG.
