The Global Certification Forum (GCF) has validated and approved the first test cases required for an LTE device certification scheme.
Designed to give operators confidence in the interoperability of LTE devices across different networks, GCF’s certification scheme will cover both FDD and TDD versions of LTE.
Ten test cases related to the air interface between an LTE device and the network base station, and running on the R&S CMW500 wideband radio communication tester from Rohde & Schwarz, were approved in January.
The GCF says certification accelerates time to market for new devices based on 3GPP standards while reducing costs for manufacturers, operators and end-users.
