Telecom NZ said it had fixed a technical fault that disrupted services for some of its retail broadband customers today.

NTT DoCoMo has bought back just shy of 20 billion yen ($243.2 million) worth of its own shares in on-market transactions.

Google has revealed it intends to hire over 500 people in APAC (including Japan) this year. The company yesterday opened its first office in Malaysia.

Thailand's DTAC has contracted Ericsson to modernize its 2G network and prepare it for an eventual upgrade to 3G or 4G technologies.

HKBN, the broadband subsidiary of City Telecom, has announced it will deploy Cisco's CRS-3 carrier routing system on its network to cope with surging data usage.

Wireless broadband provider ChinaTel and ZTE have signed a partnership agreement. The two are already co-operating on the rollout of a Wimax network in Peru via ChinaTel subsidiary Perusat.
