Telstra says it has successfully demonstrated LTE technology in the 1800MHz band with Huawei.
Telecom New Zealand will close its CDMA-based WorldMode Roaming service on October 28, while its 1xEV-DO data service will be scrapped from November 30, with the entire CDMA network scheduled for switch-off in mid-2012.
Cathay Pacific's in-flight broadband services is slated to go live in early 2012 across its entire fleet including Dragonair passenger aircraft via equipment from Panasonic Avionics, which also includes inflight GSM connectivity.
NTT DoCoMo unveils LTE service brand
NTT DoCoMo has unveiled the brand name and logo of its forthcoming LTE next-generation mobile service for the Japanese market. Scheduled to launch in December, the brand name is written Xi and read “crossy.”
ZTE pioneers IOTs
ZTE said it has successfully completed the world’s first MSF LTE/EPC interoperability tests. The tests were held by China Mobile and Vodafone in China and Germany, respectively.
NSN pushes advanced broadband tech
Nokia Siemens Networks has partnered with The Chinese University of Hong Kong to demonstrate its newly-invented Mobile Accelerator solution performance on the LTE network. The solution can be used to mitigate the internet bottleneck and yet further enhance the throughput performance levels already achieved with NSN’s LTE solution.
