Research firm Telephia reports that email and weather were the Top 2 most visited mobile Internet Web sites in the world. Telephia said rounding up the Top 5 most visited mobile web sites are sports, search, and email.
Nokia starts testing what it claims as the very first public unlicensed mobile access (UMA) pilot over WLAN in the city of Oulu in Finland. The live trial will last at least two months and is being conducted under real life surroundings and conditions, Nokia said.
Industry group Eurosmart predicts that by the end of 2006, there will be more than 100 million smart cards supporting the GlobalPlatform standard. Eurosmart said that currently, GlobalPlatform technology is utilized in Asia, Australia, Europe and the Americas.
