China Telecom launches CDMA2000 EV-DO Rev.B network

Huawei has delivered two CDMA2000 1x EV-DO Rev.B networks in Beijing and Guangzhou for China Telecom. This solution will enable operators to improve capacity, throughput and latency on their existing EVDO networks and offer sophisticated 3G services including VoIP, voice on demand, and streaming media.

ZTE pioneers commercial EV-DO Rev.B network in Indonesia

ZTE has launched the world’s first commercial EV-DO (Evolution Data Optimized) Rev.B network in partnership with Indonesia's Smart Telecom and Qualcomm. In this first phase, 48 CDMA base stations in Bali have been upgraded to EV-DO Rev.B commercial systems to provide an average download speed of 8.6 Mbps, peaking at 9.3 Mbps.

With the upgrade, uploading contents -- video, pictures, etc -- or sending emails either from handsets or netbook computers will be over 10 times faster than in networks currently available in Macau.

DoCoMo picks Stoke gateway for LTE platform

NTT DoCoMo has picked the mobile broadband gateway Stoke Session Exchange 3000 (SSX-3000) for the former's network platform for LTE (Long Term Evolution) service, Net One Systems said. The LTE network will enhance DoCoMo’s ability to manage the growing volume of mobile broadband traffic on their RAN and backhaul infrastructure.

MobilMAX taps Telegent for CDMA TV handsets

Telegent Systems said Taiwan ODM MobilMAX has incorporated the Telegent analog mobile TV receiver into two CDMA TV handset designs introduced in the fourth quarter of 2009. MobilMAX’s analog TV handsets include the C889MA, a slim metal design with a QCIF (quarter common intermediate format) display, and the CG968A, a dual-mode CDMA/GSM handset with a 2.4” QVGA touchscreen.
