Huawei signs a contract with Belgium's Mobistar for the deployment of mobile switching centers for 2G/3G Mobistar core network. The deployment marks the transition of the Mobistar core network from a traditional TDM architecture to a distributed IP architecture and will be implemented over several years.

NXP Semiconductors, formerly Philips Semiconductors, and Sony agree to establish by mid-year 2007 a joint venture on contactless smart card applications in mobile phones.
