Amazon to launch Android app store

Amazon plans to launch an Android app store this month to compete with Google's own Android Market, according to Millennial Media.

 

Glu launches team-up program for developers

Glu Mobile is expanding its third-party development resources through gPartners, a network of relationships with global independent mobile and social game developers. Barking Lizards, Escalation Studios, Flying Wisdom, Hitpoint, and Machine Works are among the first independent developers to join the gPartners network.

Standard for measuring web ads debuts

The Interactive Advertising Bureau and the Mobile Marketing Association, with help from the Media Rating Council, have established standardized key metrics for measuring advertisements for the mobile interactive industry. The Mobile Web Advertising Measurement Guidelines provide a framework to govern how ad impressions are counted on the mobile web.

OKI upgrades middleware to cover Android

OKI Electric Industry has unveiled "MoBiz Platform Ver.1.1 for Android," a middleware for developing mobile business applications for the Japanese market. The upgrade is meant to accommodate devices running Android 2.2 or later versions, in addition to smartphones running Windows Mobile 6.5 or later.

MobPartner, InMobi link up on ads

InMobi and MobPartner have teamed up to offer MobPartner advertisers access to inMobi ad inventory with a discount price. Their advertisers and partners will have access to a global audience of 200 million internet users, especially in emerging markets in Southern Asia or Africa.
