Ericsson is collaborating with Taiwan's Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) to help the nation lay the groundwork for 5G development and adoption.
The vendor has exchanged views on 5G technology development with the ITRI, the Taipei Timesreported, giving the state research institute an inside track to the work being conducted by the EU-funded Mobile and wireless communications Enablers for the 2020 Information Society (METIS).
The collaboration is aimed at helping Taiwan catch up in terms of the development of next-generation mobile technologies, the report states citing Ericsson Taiwan president Philip Tseng
