Ericsson claims a deal with AT&T will improve connectivity for its connected car cloud service.

The US operator is set to provide wireless connectivity for Ericsson’s Connected Vehicle Cloud, a collaboration the pair claims will make it easier for consumers to connect to in-car products and applications.

Services available on Ericsson’s product include detection of problems and automatic garage booking, on-demand infotainment, and the ability to receive information from third-parties including satellite radio, road operators, and government sites.

Per Borgklint, senior vice president and head of Ericsson’s Support Solutions division, says AT&T’s wireless network can “truly bring the connected vehicle ecosystem to life,” by providing faster services, and improving data security and quality of service.

“AT&T recognizes the vast potential that exists to transform digital experiences in and around the car,” Borgklint adds.
