Equinix is always building something somewhere, and today they polished off two major buildout projects.

To the north, they launched their state-of-the-art TR2 data center in Toronto, Ontario. This phase has some 34,000 square feet and 675 cabinets, and will eventually have 106,000 square feet and 2,500 cabinets.

Early tenants include the financial services firm Oanda as well as the network operators Rogers, Telus, Cogeco, Allstream, Cogent, Beanfield, and CFN Networks. The facility also has a direct link over to the TorIX of course.

And in Europe, Equinix formally launched LD6 in London -- or more specifically in Slough, the data center alley to the west of the city.

It's their sixth facility in and around London (hence LD6), and adds 236,000 square feet to their footprint in its first phase. When complete, the facility will have some 388,000 square feet of colo space in all.

Equinix's conversion to a REIT this past winter hasn't slowed them down much yet. Their first earnings call for a quarter of the new status will be closely watched in a week or two, I'm sure.
