(Wireless News via NewsEdge) WildPackets has upgraded its OmniSpectrum mobile spectrum analysis solution. The OmniSpectrum enables IT engineers to measure RF interference jeopardizing WLAN performance and to identify and locate the sources of that interference.
OmniSpectrum version 3.0 introduces more new graphical displays involving channel usage, noise and interference that augment the charts and graphical plots in earlier OmniSpectrum releases.
With the new release, administrators can see at a glance which channels are over-utilized, and by what devices, whether the interference sources are 802.11 or non-802.11 devices. OmniSpectrum also presents real-time data relating the signal strength for each AP to the interference and noise for each 802.11 channel.
