Packet optical vendor Coriant and Chinese ICT vendor New H3C Group have entered into a technology collaboration aimed at driving digital transformation in China.
New H3C Group is the joint venture between Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Tsinghua Holdings subsidiary Unisplendour Corporation, which was founded in 2016 with Unisplendour's purchase of a 51% stake in H3C and HPE's China-based server, storage and technology services businesses for around $2.3 billion.
Through the collaboration, the companies plan to advance telecoms infrastructure to support a new generation of services and applications for hyperscale data centers, 5G, super-high-speed cloud services, the industrial internet and the IoT.
The agreement will leverage Coriant's Hyperscale Carrier Architecture (HCA) packet-optical networking solutions and New H3C's suite of ICT solutions for enterprises and service provider customers in China.
“An open, scalable, and software-defined approach to network transformation plays a critical role in delivering agile and efficient digital solutions for today’s enterprises,” New H3C Group president and CEO Yu Yingtao said.
“We look forward to leveraging Coriant’s thought leadership in these areas and working closely with them to explore a wide variety of advanced communications technologies that will benefit our customers.”
Coriant CEO Shaygan Kheradpir added that Coriant and New H3C both believe strongly in “delivering disruptive innovation to deliver step-function results to customers.”
