Hong Kong's CITIC Telecom CPC has teamed up with cyber security machine learning company Darktrace to launch next-generation cyber security services for businesses across APAC.

Under the collaboration, CITIC Telecom CPC will bring Darktrace to market as a managed security services provider partner for the APAC region.

Darktrace's core technology is the Enterprise Immune System, a machine learning system designed to build an understanding of the patterns of behavior of every user and device on a network.

The system can then identify emerging threats in real time by detecting anomalous behavior and issue an autonomous response akin to digital antibodies to neutralize attacks before they can inflict damage.

The AI technology will be coupled with CITIC Telecom CPC's cyber security and post-threat intelligence capabilities as well as its around-the-clock security operation centers to help companies defend against even unknown cyber threats.

“After witnessing the power of Darktrace’s technology first-hand, CITIC Telecom CPC wanted to share the value of this disruptive AI for cyber defense on a large scale,” CITIC Telecom CPC SVP for IT and security services Daniel Kwong said.

“As we have seen from the headlines, humans are consistently outpaced by increasingly automated threats, organizations increasingly recognize that traditional defenses focussed on past threats only provide the most essential protection. Companies in Asia Pacific need a new approach to remain resilient in the face of brazen, never-seen-before advanced attacks. With Darktrace, our customers can successfully defend against all manner of novel threats.”
