The Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) and Cisco Systems have entered into a new collaboration aimed at fostering information sharing and capability development in the cybersecurity domain.

The agreement builds upon CSA’s past collaborations with Cisco, which include training initiatives under Singapore’s ASEAN Cyber Capacity Program.

Under the two-year agreement, both parties committed to enhance information sharing on the cyber threat landscape and boost efforts to facilitate the exchange of ideas and develop talent.

The agreement was signed by Singapore's permanent secretary of the Ministry of Communications and Information Gabriel Lim on behalf of CSA, and Cisco's IoT Business Group general manager Liz Centoni. The signing ceremony took place at Cisco’s Headquarters in San Jose, California.

“Cisco is a trusted name in the global cybersecurity industry. We look forward to continuing our good work together to build up our cyber defenses and grow the cybersecurity ecosystem to address cybersecurity challenges,” CSA chief executive David Koh said.

“Singapore has benefited immensely from digital adoption. The continued advancements in technology will create even bigger opportunities for the country in the years to come,” added Cisco MD for Singapore Tay Bee Kheng.

“However, to exploit the full potential of its digital economy Singapore needs to tackle the evolving cybersecurity threat. We need the right combination of people, processes and technology to tackle the issue. At Cisco, we are committed to playing our part on this front and are delighted to partner with CSA in helping Singapore achieve her Smart Nation vision.”
