China Telecom names president and COO

China Telecom has appointed Yang Jie to president and chief operating officer.

Yang was most recently executive director and vice president of China Telecom, and he assumed his new roles in early November, the company said.

Yang is a professor-level engineer and has 27 years worth of operational and managerial experience in the Chinese telecom industry.
