CDG reports dramatic increase of CDMA2000 devices across the globe

The CDMA Development Group (CDG) announced that the number and types of 3G CDMA2000 devices on the market has increased dramatically in the past three years.


Due to CDMA2000's economic maturity, technical performance and versatility, the technology has been successful in addressing and fulfilling the needs of many different market segments.


Since October 2000, the CDMA industry has introduced 1461 CDMA2000 3G devices (1,110 CDMA2000 1X and 351 CDMA2000 1xEV-DO broadband devices). Included in this number are 13 CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Revision A (Rev.A) advanced mobile broadband devices, 64 CDMA450 emerging market devices, and 20 WorldMode global roaming phones.
